Baumgartner for Minardi
(GMM) With Minardi certain to name a Dutch rookie as one 2005 driver on Thursday, attention will turn to who will be Christijan Albers' new teammate. Team founder Gian Carlo Minardi, although he said the decision is 'not up to me,' is certain to advise team owner Paul Stoddart to plump for either incumbent Zsolt Baumgartner or Gianmaria Bruni. ''We are used to having new drivers every year,'' the Italian told atlasf1.com, ''but it would be nice if one of them stayed on — it would be one less variable.'' Earlier in the month, Minardi revealed that Hungarian-backed Baumgartner would 'almost surely' remain at Faenza beyond '04, although he insists he was 'misquoted.'
