Our Champ Car moles tell us that combined, the new TV deals being struck around the world for 2005 will see Champ Car available in 400 million homes worldwide. How many of those homes will tune in to watch the races will largely depend of the marketing effort put forth by Champ Car and its sponsors. 400 million potential homes is a large number; it equates to 1 billion potential viewers per race. Of course the actual number of viewers will be far less, but a fraction of a billion is still a large number. It is this sort of ammunition that the teams are lacking to sell to sponsors.
