There's a real feeling that ESPN and ABC will go after the NASCAR TV contract that NBC and TNT have now, which ends in 2006. Fox's half of the contract has an option through 2008. ESPN especially was bitter when it lost NASCAR rights, but there are multiple signs that ESPN wants to be a player again in auto-racing broadcasting, NASCAR in particular. One sign? ESPN just signed a deal to host and sponsor the top unofficial NASCAR Web site, in part from a story at Orlando Sentinel on the PRI show
