Roush Fenway Racing restarts Classic Sunny Delight Commercial

Sunny Delight's sponsorship of Roush Fenway Racing's No. 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry begins this weekend at Dover Int'l Speedway, and RFR this morning will release a new ad that uses drivers to remake the juice drink's classic "Grape Stuff" spot from the early '80s. The new spot, shot by Charlotte-based Theory Communication & Design, sees RFR drivers Ricky Stenhouse and Chris Buescher, team PR staffers and Fox NASCAR reporters Kaitlyn Vincie and Andrew Doud playing youngsters who burst into a refrigerator to find Sunny D.

RFR, which will deploy the spot via its social channels, said it undertook the effort to try to provide some less-traditional value to its new partner, which in March announced that it will sponsor Stenhouse's ride in five races this season. Adam Stern/SportsBusinessDaily.com
