Racing on the NASCAR Broadcasting Channel (NBC) this weekend

On the heels of Joey Logano’s sweep at “The Glen,"and a second consecutive race determined by bold fuel mileage calculations and caution flag predictions, NBCSN heads to the Midwest for a full weekend of NASCAR coverage. NBCSN presents the NASCAR XFINITY Series Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by Sprint Cup Racing from Michigan Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

NBCSN’s weekend of NASCAR coverage begins at Michigan International Speedway on Friday with Sprint Cup Series practice presented by DraftKings at 11 a.m. ET. Rick Allen calls the action alongside Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte and 21-time Sprint Cup winner Jeff Burton, while Kelli Stavast and Mike Massaro patrol pit road. Coverage shifts to Mid-Ohio with the first XFINITY Series practice on NBCSN at 1:30 p.m. and the final XFINITY series practice live at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports Live Extra.

Leigh Diffey handles play-by-play duties and Dale Jarrett joins as lead analyst for XFINITY Series coverage. Reporters Jim Noble, Alex Hayden and Dave Burns handle coverage trackside at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. NASCAR coverage returns to NBCSN at 5 p.m. ET with Sprint Cup Series qualifying from “MIS" announced by Allen, Letarte, Burton, Stavast and Marty Snider. Friday’s coverage concludes with NASCAR America anchored by Krista Voda alongside analysts Kyle Petty and 2009 winner at “MIS" Brian Vickers at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Specialty reporter Rutledge Wood and Massaro contribute to the coverage.

Saturday’s practice coverage kicks off on CNBC with Sprint Cup Series practice at 8:30 a.m. ET, handled by Allen, Burton, Vickers and Snider with Stavast reporting trackside. XFINITY Series qualifying unfolds on NBC Sports Live Extra at 11 a.m. ET. NASCAR Sprint Cup racing Sunday begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NASCAR America Sunday presented by DraftKings before transitioning into the Sprint Cup Countdown to Green Served by Sonic Pre-Race Show at 2 p.m. ET. Voda hosts both shows alongside analysts Petty and Vickers. Marty Snider, Massaro, Stavast, Burns and Wood chime in with driver interviews and insights. Burton sits down with his old boss and CEO of Roush Fenway Racing, Jack Roush, in a special pre-race feature. Burton and Roush discuss their memories together, and Roush’s love of flying. At 73-years-old, the “Cat in the Hat" reflects on his passion for racing, his time at Ford Motor Company, and what being at his backyard track, “MIS," means to him.

Also during Countdown to Green, Burton explores Michigan’s two-mile track from behind the wheel of NBC Sports’ Toyota Camry On Track Car, showcasing what lies ahead for drivers on NASCAR’s fastest track. With only four races left before the 16-driver field is set for the Chase, drivers on the bubble are looking at “MIS" as an opportunity to break through with a win. The green flag drops at 2:46 p.m. ET with Sprint Cup Racing from Michigan.

NBCSN’s weekend of race coverage concludes at 11 p.m. ET with NASCAR Victory Lap hosted by Carolyn Manno and Frank Stoddard. Following a full weekend of NASCAR coverage on NBCSN, NASCAR Victory Lap is the destination for fans each Sunday night. Scanner audio and post-race interviews provide a comprehensive look back at the most compelling stories from the weekend.
