Watkins Glen International begins repave project with “The Boot”

Reconstruction begins

The photograph to the right illustrates the initial work on Watkins Glen International's resurfacing project that began today. Following the recent SCCA U.S. Majors event, this section of the long course affectionately known as "The Boot" was closed, as it is not active during the upcoming August 6-9 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend.

Work will begin on the remainder of the historic circuit following the completion of the Cheez-It 355 on Sunday, August 9.
