Larson wins Rookie of the Year

Kyle Larson, driver of the #42 Target Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Chevrolet was named 2014 Sunoco Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The 22-year-old Elk Grove, CA native won the 2013 Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year award. This season he placed 17th in the final standings on the strength of seven top-5 finishes in 2014 with a best finish of second three times.

Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon placed was the second highest placed rookie in the standings three places behind Larson.
