Only in easy 100% throttle NASCAR racing can 71-year compete

Support Military Foundation announced that Morgan Shepherd will be driving the #93 SMF Toyota at Daytona International Speedway in an attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500. The presenting sponsor will be named at a later date. If Shepherd makes the field he would become the oldest driver ever to compete in the Daytona 500.

Shepherd, 71, most recently partnered with Support Military Foundation to become the oldest driver to compete in the Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire in 2013. The team is a collaboration of BK Racing, Randy MacDonald of MacDonald Motorsports and Dell Hamilton of Support Military Foundation/HMR.

"Whenever you can break a record or make history, it's something special. To have Morgan in the car and the SMF presented on the car we couldn't be happier," said Dell Hamilton. "We are still looking for a presenting sponsor for the race, Support Military Foundation colors will be on the car but we are hoping for a presenting sponsor to come along and help us with this unique initiative."
