61 cars for LeMans test day

Sixty one cars will take part in the 2013 Le Mans 24-Hours test day on 9th June. This day is a dress rehearsal for the race itself as it gives the entrants the opportunity to run on the big Le Mans circuit less than two weeks before the start of the event on 22-23 June.

This free test day is open to all the teams entered for the Le Mans 24 Hours and to works cars after their entry has been accepted provided they comply with the eligible categories (LM P1, LM P2, LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am, LM PC and the 56th garage).

Nine LM P1s will test, one more than in the Le Mans 24 Hours, as Audi is bringing along a fourth Audi R18 e-tron quattro for Italian Marco Bonanomi.

In LM P2, Level 5 Motorsports and Signatech Motorsport will also enter a second car on 9th June, while one car from each team will start the race on 22nd June. The Gulf Racing squad will have a singleton entry, the no. 29 Lola B12/80-Nissan coupe.

In the LM GTE categories, all the cars entered for the race will be present – 12 GTE Pro and thirteen GTE Am cars – the same number (25) as will be on the grid on 22nd June.

Two cars have been entered in the LM PC category although the drivers have not yet been nominated. These cars are not eligible to race in the Le Mans 24 Hours: exceptionally they can run during the test day to discover the finer points of the big Le Mans circuit.
