Sebring Hour 10: Di Grassi, Audi Lead with Two Hours to Go at Sebring

The No. 2 Audi Sport Team Joest Audi R18 e-tron quattro driver Lucas di Grassi held a 10.546-second lead over teammate Oliver Jarvis in the No. 1 Audi with two hours remaining in the 61st Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida.

The two Audis were four laps ahead of the No. 12 Rebellion Racing Lola B12/60-Toyota being driven at the 10-hour mark by Neel Jani.

The GT battle, meanwhile, saw some separation after a tooth-and-nail fight for the first eight hours. Olivier Beretta held the class lead in the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia by more than 30 seconds over Oliver Gavin in the No. 4 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. Nick Tandy was third in class in the No. 17 Team Falken Tire Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

After running at or near the front of the GT field for the first nine hours, the chances for a victory by the No. 91 SRT Motorsports SRT Viper GTS-R took a significant blow when the car failed to start following a Ryan Dalziel pit stop. The team lost eight minutes as a result.

As it has been throughout the second half of the race, the P2 battle remains one between Level 5 Motorsports teammates. Ryan Briscoe led the way in the team’s No. 551 HPD ARX-03b-Honda with Simon Pagenaud second in class in the No. 552 entry. Tom Kimber-Smith held down third in P2 driving the No. 41 Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan. The No. 41 was two laps off the P2 lead.

David Ostella held the Prototype Challenge (PC) presented by Continental Tire lead in the No. 8 BAR 1 Motorsports ORECA FLM09 and the GT Challenge (GTC) leader was Damien Faulkner in the No. 66 TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
