Lemans.org goes Asian!
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest, which has been organizing events on the Asian Continent since 2009, is accelerating its development in the Far East. The Japanese manufacturers are back at Le Mans in force this year, Japanese and Chinese drivers take part in the Sarthe classic on a regular basis, Asian partners are investing in the ACO’s event and the supporters are growing both in numbers and enthusiasm.
On Thursday, during the traditional Automobile Club de l’Ouest press conference before the Le Mans 24 Hours, the latest steps linked to the development of the ACO’s activities in Asia and the future Asian Le Mans Series will be announced.
In this context, it seemed a good idea to provide a new service through the Le Mans 24-Hours and ACO’s activities official site: www.lemans.org . This site that is already the leader by a wide margin in terms of information on endurance events provides rich, diversified contents.
From today, 7th June 2012, with ten days to go to the 80th Le Mans 24 Hours it is now available in Chinese and Japanese in addition to the French and English versions. Thus, the growing number of fans of Le Mans–type races on the Asian Continent will have 24-hour access to the Le Mans 24 Hours and also to the other events of the different championships: the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Asian Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the European Le Mans Series.
The two Asian races that are part of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Fuji 6 Hours (Japan 14th October) and the Shanghai 6 Hours (China, 27th October), will be covered and commentated on in Chinese and Japanese. Information about drivers, teams and manufacturers taking part in the Le Mans Series throughout the world will also be given on a regular basis.
Special sections on the lemans.org site will present the driving school with the Pescarolo prototype and the whole range of activities of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.
Obviously, the Le Mans 24-Hours Facebook page will also provide information in Chinese and Japanese in the near future.
Finally, to celebrate this new version of lemans.org in the manner it deserves the magazine Le Mans Racing, now available on Internet in English (www.lemans-racing.com), will give two months’ free subscription to its readers on the Web after a lucky draw.
