Daly well satisfied after Silverstone GP3 testing

American Conor Daly posted the second fastest time of the morning session in Silverstone, England, today which put him third fastest overall on the final day of pre-season testing. Today was the sixth and last day of pre-season work that has taken place in three different countries since March; two days in Spain, two in Portugal and two in England. The first race of the 2012 season kicks off in Barcelona, Spain, May 12th-13th.

"These two days were very satisfying because we got to do a lot of work on fine tuning the set up of the car and I got to experience both wet and dry conditions. The car was stable and really fast in the high speed corners. I can't wait for the season to start", said Daly.

As part of the job list today, Daly completed a full race simulation run in the afternoon to understand what the car might do with a heavy fuel load over a 30 minute time span.

"I really like doing the race simulation runs because it accelerates my learning ability and puts me as close to an actual race environment as possible. The race sim runs require a different approach because you have to gauge how hard you can push the rear tires without giving up too much pace in the early stages. I think the six days since March have been really good for me", said Daly.

Conor Daly, son of former Formula One driver, Derek Daly, will compete in the Formula One support series, GP3, for Lotus GP during the 2012 season. He is the 2010 Formula Star Mazda Champion, won the 2008 Walter Hayes Formula Ford Trophy and the 2008 Skip Barber National Championship. Daly is sponsored by: Callcap, The College Network and Merchant Services Ltd., with additional support from, Alpinestars, Tom Lange Co., Arai Helmets and Aspin Group.
