Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Offers Military Discounts

The 38th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is honoring the men and women of our armed services – active or retired – with special discount offers to the April 13-15 event.

Service personnel can call the Grand Prix ticket office toll-free at (888) 82-SPEED, ask for the “Military Promotion" and, if qualified, will receive substantial discounts on Saturday and Sunday general admission tickets. During race weekend, military personnel can show their identification card at the box office and receive the same offer.

In addition, the Grand Prix’s souvenir program carries information about “Hire A Hero," featuring Panther Racing’s J. R. Hildebrand, driver of the #4 National Guard IZOD IndyCar, about how to take advantage of the “Hire a Hero" program, started in 2006 by the Armed Forces Support Foundation to help the more than one million unemployed veterans in the U.S.

Independently owned Toyota and Lexus dealerships are also interested in providing job opportunities to military service men and women who are currently in the process of, or who have already separated from, military service. “The City of Long Beach has a long and storied involvement with the nation’s military," said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, “and the Grand Prix is proud to honor, in a small way, the sacrifices they make, and have made, for all of us."
