Jeff Gordon testing at Pike Peak

Jeff Gordon traveled to Colorado on Friday to test his #24 Chevy at Pikes Peak International Raceway through today Saturday. Gordon arrived in Colorado early Friday morning before heading to the Pikes Peak track, just south of Colorado Springs in Fountain, CO. Gordon wants to test on a downforce track. Pikes Peak's low banking – the corners rise just 10 degrees – mimics the corners at Phoenix International Raceway. The Phoenix track – which has an 11-degree corner bank and is 1-mile long, like Pikes Peak – will host the Sprint Cup race that follows Daytona, on Feb. 27. Gordon and his team will be at the Pikes Peak raceway all day today. Testing is open to the general public, though admission is $10. Denver Post
