Six Indy drivers thrilled about V8 outing

No less than six IndyCar Series drivers will be making special guest appearances in Australia’s V8 Supercar touring car championship this weekend, with the names in question joining the likes of 1997 Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve for the legendary Gold Coast 600.

Set on the renowned Surfers Paradise street circuit, this weekend’s race promises to deliver fantastic action as Helio Castroneves, local favorites Ryan Briscoe and Will Power, Alex Tagliani, Scott Dixon and Champion Dario Franchitti travel down under.

“When you have 18 guys, I'm sure they'll all want to be the best – I do too," Penske’s Castroneves told Speedcafe.com.au.

“For me, I'm looking out more for the IndyCar drivers; there's six of us in total here and that's what I'm looking at – trying to at least be better than those guys!

“…they should have a trophy for the best of the IndyCar drivers!"
