New promoters at historic Terre Haute Action Track

The legendary ½ mile Terre Haute Action Track will receive a new lease on life with a new promotional team taking the reins over on the historic half mile effective immediately. The O'Connor family and Track Enterprises have teamed up to promote events for the balance of the 2010 race schedule. The USAC Indiana Sprint week event on Wednesday night July 14th will be the first event on their promotional calendar.

The USAC Sprint points lead is a very tight one with Damien Gardner leading the pack of experienced drivers. Damion (The Demon) Gardner of Concord, Calif. Sits atop both the 2010 USAC Amsoil National and CRA Sprint Car point standings at this time. Don’t miss the chance to see some of the nation’s best compete on the famous Action Track. Dave Darland, Levi Jones, Tracy Hines, Shane Cottle and Bud Kaeding should all be in attendance to battle for the checkered flag. Defending AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Champion Levi Jones of Olney, IL has won 5 races so far this year with point’s leader Damion Gardner close behind taking home 4 first place finishes.

The O'Connor family owns and promotes the Kokomo Speedway located in Kokomo, Indiana and has a long history in operating race tracks in Illinois and Indiana. The September 11th First Financial Bank Jim Hurtubise Classic will also be promoted by the Illinois based duo. The USAC Silver Crown Event held on Wednesday Night July 21st will be held under the banner of another promotional team, but the O'Connor family and Track Enterprises will be on the grounds to aid in prepping the track and in other areas as well. Track Enterprises, Inc. owned by Midwest Promoter Bob Sargent runs several USAC events throughout the year including the Hoosier Hundred which was held on May 28 of this year. Track Enterprises will also hold two more mile events for the USAC Silver Crown Cars, one at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on August 21 and the other on September 5 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, both 1 mile dirt ovals.

The July 14th event which is part of the 23rd Annual Indiana Sprint Week is featuring the USAC Sprint cars, ticket prices are as follows: adult grandstand tickets for $25; adult bleachers for $20; adult infield for $15. Youth (13-15) tickets will be $10 for all sections with children 12 & under admitted for free. Pit passes will be available for $35 ($30 USAC members with card).
