No action taken on Massa/Schumacher incident

FIA race stewards have elected to take no action over the incident involving Michael Schumacher's Mercedes and Felipe Massa's Ferrari in the closing stages of the Canadian Grand Prix.

With Massa having been recovering from early-race problems as Schumacher suffered from heavily worn rear tires, the Brazilian was seemingly forced onto the grass by his former team-mate on the run to the final chicane.

With Massa having saved his car from spinning on Lap 56, the Paulista was forced to endure a slow lap before pitting for repairs.

The stewards, one of which is ex double Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, have decided that no action should be taken and therefore no driver receives a penalty or reprimand.

'The Stewards after hearing the explanation of both the Competitors representatives and the drivers decided that the incident requires no further action,' reads the stewards' official report.
