Power favored to win pole in Long Beach

Verizon Penske driver Will Power painted himself as the favorite to win the pole later today for Sunday's Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach after dominating Saturday morning practice under clear skies and mild temperatures.

Power was the only driver to break below the 1m10s barrier with a lap of 1m09.9596s on the 1.98-mile street circuit.

Ganassi Racing's Dario Franchitti, who is the defending race champion, was 2nd quick at 1m10.3147s.

Power's teammate, Helio Castroneves was third, Justin Wilson 4th and yesterday's quick man, Ryan Hunter-Reay 5th.
