Another woman to drive in ARCA race

Jill George is no stranger to competition and this weekend at the world center of stock car racing will be no exception. George will drive the James Hylton owned #48 Dodge in the ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200. She will add to a large list of female entries at the first race of the season for the ARCA competitors. ARCA has historically been a proving ground for young and upcoming talent both male and female in the stock car world. The 2010 kickoff will be no different with several female drivers on the entry list including, Danica Patrick’s debut onto the stock car scene.

George is an accomplished driver being the only woman competitor in the ASA Mid-West Tour World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil Dirt Series regular. In 2007 George was chosen as one of 24 drivers for the highly sought after NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program and has been under the tutelage of former NASCAR driver, Andy Hillenburg. She has trained at with Hillenburg at both Rockingham and Charlotte Speedways in preparation for the big stage of Daytona and Live SPEED TV coverage.

George is an extremely popular, well-spoken and outgoing talent in the paddock at any race she attends and is looking forward to a productive weekend at Daytona. George attended the University of Northern Iowa on a track and field scholarship and is a school record holder at UNI, a Drake Relays champion, and a Missouri Valley Conference place winner. She was also the Iowa Golden Gloves Boxing champion in 2003 and 2004 and has boxed nationally in Golden Gloves and USA Boxing Development competitions. She and her husband, Rick Hartzell currently own the highly successful Hartzell Family Chiropractic practice in Waterloo, Iowa.
