Moss says Schumacher will struggle

Sir Stirling Moss believes that Michael Schumacher will be facing a far tougher time than expected as the German makes his Formula 1 comeback this year. Englishman Moss, generally regarded as the greatest driver never to win a World Championship title, is also expecting a stiff challenge from within the Mercedes team. With Nico Rosberg making the switch from Williams to Mercedes, he and Schumacher will make up an all-German line-up as the silver arrows – for whom Moss drove in the mid-1950s – return to the sport as a factory team.

"With Michael, the problem up until now is that he's never had a really fast number two," Moss told GPUpdate.net at this weekend's Autosport International show. "Rubens (Barrichello) was a terrific number two – and sometimes he beat him – but he's not as fast as Vettel, for instance, so it's going to be very interesting to see.

"I think he's going to find it a lot more difficult than he thinks, although he's not a stupid man so he must have considered it. I can understand him wanting to come back, because it's a wonderful sport, but whether he was wise to do that or not – only time will tell."
