Massa cleared after vision test

(GMM) Medical tests overseen by the FIA have shown that Felipe Massa's eyesight will not delay his return to formula one.

Ferrari confirmed after the tests at Paris' Pitie Salpetriere hospital that the 28-year-old, seriously injured in a Budapest qualifying crash in July, has fully "recovered the functions of his left eye".

The neurological and ophthalmological exams precede Massa's return to the wheel of a formula one car, with a two-year-old F2007 with GP2-spec tires, probably on Monday at the Fiorano test track, depending on the weather.

After "positive" outcomes from the first FIA tests, he was due to continue the medical tests on Saturday afternoon.
