Beatrice Rossini 1991 – 2009

Motor sport is going through an unbelievable somber streak of serious accidents. After the passing of Flavio Guglielmini in rallying, Henry Surtees in Formula 2 and – last Sunday – Thomas Knopper in karting, we now mourn over young motorbike racer Beatrice Bossini from Montevarchi in Italy, who suffered a fatal accident while testing her Kawasaki Ninja 600 Supersports bike.

The accident happened while Beatrice was exiting the final corner onto the main straight at the Rijeka track in Croatia, where 18-year-old Beatrice had arrived for a private test session and thereafter had planned to spend the holidays with her parents. Apparently she suffered a highsider and, according to reports, was ejected from the bike, hitting the asphalt hard. Beatrice was declared dead at the scene.
