Massa believes he could have won Hungarian GP
According to Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazilian will imminently leave the ICU to a general ward, having taken his first steps and demanded to know who won the Hungarian grand prix.
He is also able to sit and speak in a regular sitting position, has demanded his first solid meal since last Saturday's lunch, and asked to have a proper shower.
Massa, 28, is also reported to have asked his wife Rafaela in what position he had qualified at the time of his crash, and who was the winner of Sunday's 70-lap race.
When told that Lewis Hamilton had won ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, Massa is said to have answered: "That was my race!"
Massa, who may bypass the transfer to a Paris hospital and simply return home to Sao Paulo in a few days, is also believed to have spoken to Michael Schumacher by telephone.
He is not however ready to leave hospital altogether, with news that Massa is also suffering a gallbladder and intestinal inflammation; a seatbelt injury resulting from his collision with the tire barrier when unconscious.
