(GMM) Toro Rosso's new 19-year-old race driver Jaime Alguersuari will not relinquish his seat with the Carlin team in the Renault World Series. "Obviously his F1 commitments will take priority," said his boss Trevor Carlin.

Paul Tracy, a bitter rival during Sebastien Bourdais' successful prior career in the United States, has said he is "not surprised" Toro Rosso fired the Frenchman half-way into his second formula one season. "The guy was a misery even when he had the best car and was winning everything, so I guess he's been pretty unbearable this last 18 months," the Canadian wrote in his racer.com blog.

F1's governing body the FIA, as well Ferrari and its driver Felipe Massa, all separately issued statements of condolences on Monday following the death of 18-year-old F2 driver Henry Surtees, whose father John won the 1964 world championship in a Ferrari.

Surtees died after he was struck on the head by a flying wheel at Brands Hatch, and it has been rumored that the F2 cars, designed and built by Williams, did not feature wheel tethers. In fact, the single seaters comply fully with the F1 safety standard of 2005.

MSC has launched legal action after the FIA overlooked its application to take N.Technology into formula one in 2010. The Italian outfit has expressed concerns about the process that led to the new teams Campos, Manor and USF1 being selected to debut next year.
