Team 3G withdraws from Milwaukee race

Team 3G won't compete in the ABC Supply/A.J. Foyt 225 at The Milwaukee Mile because of damage sustained to the No. 98 car during a morning practice crash in Turn 2.

Team co-owner Greg Beck said the incident damaged the bellhousing and gearbox. Driver Stanton Barrett and the team will be listed in last place – Did Not Start — on the box score and receive half the points. Barrett had turned 19 laps on the oval.

"We are going back to the shop," Beck said. "Unfortunately, the car was damaged just enough that we couldn't really finish repairing it here. We are going to get ready for Texas and get ready for the rest of the season and just keep plugging away at it.

"It is tough not to race here. We were really looking forward to it but we will move on to (the Bombardier Learjet 550k on June 6)."
