Rosberg happy to stay with Williams

(GMM) Nico Rosberg has revealed he will be happy to stay with Williams in 2010 as long as the Grove team remains able to produce a tidy package.

The 23-year-old German is presently the subject of speculation that he is seeking a better option than the Toyota-powered independent team at the expiry of his contract.

But he told the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell that he is happy where he is.

"At the moment I would gladly remain with Williams," Rosberg is quoted as saying ahead of the Monaco grand prix, whose street layout lies mere hundreds of metres from his residence.

Earlier this year, Rosberg was quoted as warning that without a race-winning car, he will seek a move to a more competitive team next year.

But even though the team is currently just eighth in the constructors' championship, the driver insists he is satisfied with the potential of the FW31.

"And if they continue to give me car like that – and maybe even a little bit better – then I would be happy if I could stay with Williams," added Rosberg.

He insists that, despite drivers' traditional desire to move from a private team to a works outfit, Rosberg insists that with Williams, that is not necessarily the case.

"It helps to have more money, however it is not the decisive factor," he explained. "With Williams, if the cooperation fits, we can win with our budget."
