Lucas Oil to Sponsor ARCA Opener at Daytona

Lucas Oil will sponsor the season-opening ARCA RE/MAX Series event at historic Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 7, President Robin Braig announced. The 80-lap, 200-mile event that serves as a prelude to the Budweiser Shootout NASCAR Sprint Cup Series non-points All-Star event will be known as the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 At Daytona.

"We're thrilled to welcome Lucas Oil as the sponsor for the ARCA RE/MAX Series season opener," Braig said. "The Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 will kick off the stock car portion of DIRECTV Speedweeks and showcase racing's future stars. Combined with the Budweiser Shootout, it's going to be an exciting Saturday night doubleheader for race fans at Daytona."

"This is our first opportunity to sponsor an event at Daytona International Speedway and work with the ARCA RE/MAX Series," said Lucas Oil Executive Vice President Robert E. Patison. "We are delighted to be a part of DIRECTV Speedweeks."

In the past years, the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 At Daytona has become a platform for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams to showcase their developmental drivers on the legendary 2.5-mile tri-oval for the first time such as 2008 winner Michael Annett, who won with Bill Davis Racing.
