Another Chrysler executive jumps off sinking ship

Chrysler LLC's senior vice president of parts and services has left the company, the second top executive to leave the Auburn Hills automaker in four days.

Simon Boag left to pursue other interests, Chrysler said in a statement. His departure follows the sudden departure Friday of supply chief John Campi, who left the company for health reasons.

Boag, who previously was at General Motors Corp., held posts in manufacturing, did production planning for the Mercedes Group in Stuttgart, and was purchasing chief at Chrysler before his last job as senior vice president.

While all salaried ranks were eligible for the last round of buyouts, the high-level departures to date are not executives who have chosen that route, said spokeswoman Shawn Morgan. One can only assume Boag did not want to go down with Chrysler's sinking ship.
