Penske signs Justin Allgaier as part-time driver

Penske Racing has named Justin Allgaier as its Nationwide Series driver for select races in 2008 and 2009.

“We’ve had our eye on Justin for some time, and Penske Racing is fortunate to be in a position to bring him on board," Penske Racing president Tim Cindric said in a news release. “Roger always enjoys the opportunity to grow people within our system and we are looking forward to helping him achieve his career goals."

The 22-year-old Allgaier was the youngest driver in Chili Bowl history to advance to the final event when he accomplished that feat in the prestigious Midget race at age 14. Allgaier has three career ARCA wins and 13 top-10s in 18 career ARCA races. He also has competed in eight Craftsman Truck Series races.

“What a great opportunity to join Penske Racing and to show what we are capable of together in the Nationwide Series," Allgaier said.
