ESPN Star Sports Inks Five-Year Extension For F1 Broadcast Rights

ESPN Star Sports (ESS) and F1 today announced that they have renewed their media rights deal for five more years. The deal awards ESS exclusive broadcast rights to the F1 series across multiple platforms in 24 Asian markets, including India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea (ESPN). The deal marks the first time F1 rights "have been awarded on a platform neutral basis; the first time that radio rights have been included; the first time ESS will have terrestrial rights in a number of markets; and the first time F1 content will be made available on a linear and non-linear basis" Daily Variety
