Gibbs promises stiffer in-house penalties

NASCAR’s fines to crew chiefs often are considered fines to teams with the belief that the car owners pay them. But Joe Gibbs Racing President J.D. Gibbs said Nationwide Series crew chiefs Dave Rogers and Jason Ratcliff will be responsible for their $50,000 fines plus an in-house fine. Gibbs also will add to the length of the indefinite suspensions issued by NASCAR.

“If NASCAR comes back and says, ‘It’s [till] the end of the year,' we’ll add to that," Gibbs said. “If they come back and say, ‘It’s eight races,’ then we’ll go to the end of the year. And financially, we’ll add to that, too." Scenedaily.com
