FIA gives Hamilton engine all-clear

(GMM) McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes-Benz engine got the all-clear on Thursday following a routine and thorough inspection at the Hungaroring, the FIA confirmed.

It emerged late last week that F1's governing body would inspect the V8 power-plant, which propelled the championship leader to victory at Hockenheim two weeks ago.

The inspection was the first of its kind this season, part of a process to ensure that all manufacturers are complying fully with the current so-called 'freeze' on most engine development.
