Charles “Jug” Eckert dies

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway's largest food caterer, Charles "Jug" Eckert, passed away yesterday evening at 9:00 PM. He was a fixture at the track for decades.

Eckert, who started Jug's Catering nearly 40 years ago, was an institution at IMS. His commitment to serving great food has made him a pillar in the community and he provided many jobs for the people of Indiana.
