Formula BMW mechanics in serious car accident

The joy of two Formula BMW wins this past weekend at Lime Rock turned to horror for the Antonio Ferrari Eurointernational team. On Saturday evening four crew members from the team were in a frightening car incident on the way to the airport to fly back to Indianapolis. The car containing Mathieu Cloutier, Carlos Pena and Fred Michael and engineer Dhanush Kondoth were involved in a head-on collision. The impact was said to have been very violent and the rescuers had to cut the roof of the car to get to the occupants. Mathieu Cloutier has been transported in serious conditions with head trauma, via helicopter, to the Hartford hospital while the others three were transported by ambulance to the Winsted hospital.
