2009 DTM Calendar

In 2009, the DTM season once again will feature eleven rounds held in six European countries. With Germany, Italy, France, England, Spain and the Netherlands, the calendar will again comprise the automotive industry’s most important European core markets. “The co-operation with all the circuits has been excellent, therefore, it goes without saying that we are going to return to the venues that have been staging DTM rounds in 2008," reveals ITR e.V. Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht. “Continuity represented the top priority for us while planning the new season, consequently, we want to keep on supporting the successful development of every race on the calendar."

Traditionally, the season will be kicked off at the Hockenheimring Baden Württemberg – on 26th April. Just one week later, on 3rd May, Mugello (Italy) will stage the second round of the season and on 17th May, DTM will return to German for round three, held at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. Afterwards, DTM will make a six-week summer break – that will end on 5th July, with the season highlight at the Norisring. Following the street race held in Nuremberg, the season will be continued in a two-week rhythm at Oschersleben (19th July), Zandvoort, Netherlands (2nd August), the Nürburgring (16th August) and Brands Hatch, Great Britain (30th August). In mid-September, DTM will race for the fourth time in the sport’s history at Barcelona (20th September) and on 4th October, France’s rich in tradition Le Mans circuit will be the venue of the penultimate round of the season. Then, on 25th October, DTM will return to the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg for the big season finale.

The calendar was created in co-operation with the Deutscher Motorsport Bund, DMSB (German Motorsport Association) and DTM rights holder and distributor, ITR e.V., and will now be submitted to DMSB and FIA for its approval.
