Lime Rock paving almost complete

Paving work continues at Lime Rock

Only one week before the race track at Lime Rock Park is re-paved and ready for the American Le Mans Series Grand Prix!

The final layer of asphalt has been applied to the entire “Classic Track" circuit, as well as two of the “Optional Track" corners. It’s likely that a second round will be necessary for the Optional West Bend as well.

The track length and course turns have been estimated; the center line of the Optional Course (two of the three corners that were built) is approximately 1.51 miles. This can be considered a 10-turn circuit.

In addition, this is the first time in history that Lime Rock Park will have the option of three left hand turns: The Classic Lefthander through the Esses, the Lefthander on the Optional Uphill and the Lefthander coming out of the Optional West Bend.

The concrete curbing has also begun; for the driver, this is a very important element in track configuration, so it is crucial that the curbing is accurate.

Track construction will continue throughout June, and be officially unveiled for the American Le Mans Series Northeast Grand Prix, July 11-12.
