RLR blood drive a success

Rahal Letterman Racing opened its doors last week for its first-ever public Red Cross Blood Drive, and the public as well as team members stepped up to provide enough blood to benefit more than 100 individuals.

Even more encouraging to Red Cross organizers was the fact that nearly half of the donors over the two-day drive were first-time donors, including RLR co-owner Bobby Rahal.

"We are very cognizant of our role in the community, and we make every effort to do whatever it takes to help those in need," Rahal said. "The Red Cross and the medical profession in general has a greater need for blood during the summer months and we were lucky enough to be able to help. I am especially proud of those members of our team that stepped up to help."
