Allan McNish

Hot off his second victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and first since 1998 – three-time American Le Mans Series champion Allan McNish will be a guest on XM’s Powershift program at 9:25 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 18. McNish won at Le Mans for the first time with Audi and took a 4:31 victory with Dindo Capello and Tom Kristensen as the diesel-powered Audi R10 TDI won the world’s greatest race for the third year in a row.

McNish and mates drove a flawless race to beat the factory Peugeot of Nic Minassian, Marc Gene and Jacques Villeneuve. The No. 2 Audi led seven times for 178 of 381 laps in setting a modern-day distance record of 5,192.649 kilometers to set a distance record for the current version of the Circuit de la Sarthe. Audi won the race with pitwork and efficiency as it made 32 stops (four less than the Peugeot) that covered just 31:56.

The Series will have a constant presence on Powershift with guests appearing at 9:25 p.m. ET each week with host Joe Costello. Series President and CEO Scott Atherton will be a featured guest on the June 26 show.
