NHRA awards ceremony to held Nov.17th

At the center of the pulse of Los Angeles' entertainment heartbeat, the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City will be the site where 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series world champions will be crowned, it was announced today by NHRA officials. The 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.

The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony will feature a pre-event cocktail reception at 5 p.m., formal sit-down banquet at 6 p.m., and an after party. The voice of NHRA, veteran announcer Bob Frey, will serve as emcee during the evening.

This is the second year of the NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship, a playoff-style format that determines the POWERade world champions in each of the four professional categories.

The Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, located at the entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood and CityWalk – dubbed the Entertainment Capital of L.A. – is situated high on a hill above the giant entertainment complex. The hotel is minutes from major studios, the Hollywood Bowl, Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles Zoo, beaches, and other Hollywood sites.

The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Drag Racing Series awards presentation and party will take place prior to the night's festivities at the nearby Sheraton Universal Hotel, within walking distance to the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City. NHRA PR
