Hamilton dad wants to stay driver manager

(GMM) Lewis Hamilton's father insists he has no intention of giving up the role as his son's manager.

Anthony Hamilton insisted at Monaco on Sunday that, despite numerous offers from professional sports agents to handle the championship leader, he thinks he is perfectly able to keep doing the job himself.

Some observers have suggested that Hamilton, the 23-year-old winner of six grands prix for McLaren, has been poorly managed at times during his short F1 career.

The latest grimace about Hamilton's apparent lack of professional advice was in Turkey two weeks ago, when many agents would have refused to let their high-profile charge, at the behest of team sponsors, dangle from wires on the stage of a Turkish play.

But Hamilton Snr is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: "Lewis has confidence in me and that's all that matters.

"I haven't met an agent who can offer us anything we can't do ourselves."
