XM Radio to broadcast Indy 500 live

XM Satellite Radio will air extensive coverage of the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 as motorsports fans gear up for "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" on May 25 live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. XM is the exclusive satellite radio provider of the Indianapolis 500 and the Indy Racing League.

The Indianapolis 500 can be heard nationwide on the IndyCar Series Racing channel (XM channel 145) starting at 1 p.m. ET, with the pre-race show at noon ET. The channel is also carrying Indy 500 qualifying May 17-18, Carb Day events and the Firestone Freedom 100 race May 23, and the IMS Radio Network show "Indy Live." A full list of dates and times is online at www.xmradio.com/irl.

Andretti Green Racing drivers Danica Patrick, Tony Kanaan, Marco Andretti, and Hideki Mutoh will join team co-owner Michael Andretti at the speedway for a special edition of their weekly XM radio show "Andretti Green Racing Hour," which will air on May 21, 7-8 p.m. ET, on XM Sports Nation (XM Channel 144).

XM Sports Nation has daily coverage of the Indy 500, led by the motorsports show "Powershift" hosted by Joe Castello. "Powershift" airs 8-10 p.m. ET weeknights on XM 144. Castello will host the show live from the speedway on May 22 and 23, and he will host special editions of the show from the track on May 24 at noon ET and May 25 at 11 a.m. ET.

"This is the first running of the Indy 500 since the unification of the IndyCar Series and CART/Champ Car, so the competition is going to be intense," said Kevin Straley, XM senior vice president of news, sports, and talk programming. "The Indy 500 is the crown jewel of open wheel racing, and we take great pride in bringing the event to fans all over the country."
