Sprint Showdown entry list includes 29 teams

The preliminary entry list for the Sprint Showdown qualifier for the all-star race includes 29 teams.

In addition to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars that are entered and competing for the spot in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, the list includes a few changes. Dario Franchitti, who has not driven since breaking an ankle at Talladega, is listed in the No. 40 Chip Ganassi Racing entry. Tony Raines is driving the No. 08 EM Motorsports entry, with Bill Elliott in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford he shares with Jon Wood. Jeff Green is taking over the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports entry as regular driver John Andretti is at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kenny Wallace is entered in the No. 37 Front Row Motorsports Chevrolet, Carl Long is entered in his own No. 46 Carl Long Motorsports Dodge, Chad McCumbee is in the No. 49 BAM Racing entry that has been inactive of late and Johnny Sauter returns in the No. 70 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet. David Reutimann moves back to the Michael Waltrip Racing No. 00 as Dale Jarrett plans to race for the final time in the team's No. 44.

The race is slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT Saturday night. The top two drivers from the Showdown advance to the all-star race. There will also be a driver voted in to the all-star race by fans.
