Fernandez family grows

Congratulations and best wishes go out today to Adrian Fernandez and wife Catalina, who delivered the couple’s second child Monday in their hometown of Scottsdale. Baby Niko was born at 6:18 p.m. ET and weighed in at eight pounds, 11.2 ounces. He joins sister Valentina, who turned one in April. Mother and baby are doing very well and are expected home on Wednesday.

And what more fitting baby gift could the proud papa give than the first victory for Lowe’s Fernandez Racing this weekend in the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by the Grand and Little Hotels? Fernandez will team with Luis Diaz in the team’s No. 15 Acura ARX-01b in Sunday’s race at Miller Motorsports Park.
