Franchitti expected to return for Coca-Cola 600

NASCAR rookie Dario Franchitti is wearing a carbon-fiber walking cast on his broken left ankle. The 2007 Indianapolis 500 and IndyCar Series champion was injured during the April 26 Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. He missed the Cup races at Talladega and Richmond and will miss the upcoming race at Darlington Raceway.

Sterling Marlin will drive Franchitti's car at Darlington, then stand by for the May 25 Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, where Franchitti is expected to return to action. AutoWeek
