Chrysler’s top P.R. exec resigns

Chrysler LLC's top spokesman, David Barnas, is leaving the Auburn Hills automaker to take an executive position at a Saginaw-based spinoff of Delphi Corp.

Barnas, who will step down Friday, said he is leaving Chrysler on good terms. He said the opportunity with the former Delphi steering division was too good to pass up.

"I'm running to an opportunity, not running away from anything," he said. "I'll miss my friends at Chrysler.

Barnas, however, is the third public relations executive to leave the company in the past five months. Jason Vines, the former vice president for communications, and Mike Aberlich, who served as director of corporate and internal communications, left the company in December.
