Atlanta Motor Speedway raises purse

When NASCAR's visits Atlanta Motor Speedway March 7-9, a combined purse of $6,763,848 for its Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck Series races awaits them. The total award is a record for the 1.54-mile quad-oval, which will kick off the weekend with the American Commercial Lines 200 Craftsman Truck race March 7. followed by the Nicorette 300 Nationwide Series event March 8 and the Kobalt Tools Sprint Cup race on March 9. The Cup purse of $5,060,012 will exceed $5 million for the first time in track history.
