Concept Cars More Than Style, Also Create Buzz

While concept cars are known to contain state-of-the-art technology and look stylish, automakers say they provide an even greater purpose – to create buzz. Concept cars continue to remain among the most popular vehicles at a variety of auto shows. However, following their debut, most concept vehicles must undergo a number of changes due to practicality, safety and cost. For these reasons, automakers say most concept cars almost never go into production directly. One concept vehicle at this year's ongoing Chicago Auto Show (being held Feb. 6-17) is General Motors' Denali XT, a car-based pick-up truck that is also a hybrid.
