Sponsorship for Carpentier ‘two-thirds’ sold

Patrick Carpentier

Gillett Evernham Motorsports has the majority of the primary sponsorship sold for the No. 10 Sprint Cup car of Patrick Carpentier, team principal Alex Gillett said Tuesday during Day 2 of the NASCAR media tour.

Valvoline and Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper will sponsor races for the team this year.

"We still have some open inventory, but we're more than half sold – we're about two-thirds sold on that car," Gillett said. "It's been a good sales season."

It has been a busy six months of selling sponsorship for the team, which the Gillett family bought in August. The team has secured sponsorship from Budweiser for Kasey Kahne and Best Buy and Stanley to join Elliott Sadler.

Gillett said that Best Buy and McDonalds, another sponsor, both have relationships with the NHL Montreal Canadiens, which the Gillett family also owns. It is working with Stanley to figure out a business-to-business plan with its car dealerships, which also now have a business relationship with Valvoline.

"It's been very fruitful and we've seen a lot of different positives come out of this," Gillett said about cross-promoting among the family businesses. Scenedaily.com
