Said to drive in five Sprint Cup races

Fresh from winning his second straight NASCAR Bobsled Challenge at Lake Placid, N.Y., Boris Said has set his schedule for the 2008 season.

Now a regular on ESPN's “NASCAR Now," Said is to drive in only five NASCAR Sprint Cup races this season, starting with the Daytona 500.
“But we could be in a little trouble there," said Said. “There are only six spots open and there are seven Toyotas going for them. We've made it every time before, but Ford is the only program without a new engine this season."

Plus, Said's Carlsbad-based No Fear team hasn't had as much time in the Car of Tomorrow, which will be making its Daytona International Speedway debut with the 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 17, as most other teams in the garages.

In addition to the Daytona 500, Said plans to enter the second Sprint Cup race in Daytona in July plus the road races at Sears Point and Watkins Glen and the fall race at Talladega.

He also plans to run the three road-course races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series plus selected sports car races to include the 24 Hours of Daytona (in a Mustang GT) and the 12 Hours of Sebring. SignOnSanDiego.com
