F1 going to Moscow in 2008

The Bavaria City Racing organization is to take F1 to the streets of Moscow in 2008 with plans for an event on July 13, the weekend between the British and German Grands Prix. The plan is to create a street circuit around the Kremlin. The plan came to fruition thanks to an approach by Bavaria City Racing to the Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende who agreed to talk directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin when the pair met early last month. Putin agreed that the event was a great idea and Bavaria City Racing , which started out with the hugely successful event on the streets of Rotterdam in 2005. Since then the event has grown to attract 500,000 people each year and a deal is in place for the event to be held for 10 more years. Grandprix.com
